J o h n n y  M a r t y r  is an East Coast photojournalist who handcrafts black & white lifestyle images on 35mm film.  

Martyr's photography can be found in periodicals such as Marie Claire, HuffPost, TEDBuzzfeed; on the gallery walls of ArtistAngle & The Delaplaine; as well as the social media of Kodak Professional.  He studied Film, Video & Theatre at Villa Julie College from 1999 to 2003 & was a wedding photographer with Bradley Images Photo & Video from 2001 to 2004.  Martyr took commercial production stills & covered news events for Erickson Living from 2006 to 2009. In 2011, he teamed up with Stephanie Lee to form Martyr & Lee Photography, LLC. He has been a freelance author for Petapixel since 2018. Martyr has photographed politicians including Bill & Hillary Clinton; musicians Veruca Salt & comedian Nikki Glaser. 

When he’s not shooting, Johnny Martyr collects Night of the Living Dead trading cards.  He also enjoys drinking craft beer or absinthe while listening to alternative, Britpop & grunge music.
